DONATE
Ornellas School is dedicated to lifelong learning where students are encouraged to develop spiritually, academically, socially, morally and, most importantly, through a personal faith life with Christ and His Church.
At Ornellas, we strive to live up to the motto of our school – Ad Majora Natus Sum – which means Born to Greater Things.
There are many students who are coming from the low strata of the society and need financial assistance. In lieu of the same and to cater to the needs of such students, we would encourage you for your whole hearted support towards the School Poor Boys Fund.
Your donation today will help strengthen a child in need of a quality education, but will also strengthen a child in his knowledge and experience of Jesus.
We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the individuals just like you who help make Ornellas School possible.
We pledge to use your gift to educate all who enter our doors in faith and academics.
Ornellas … the future of our Church, our community, our world.

We continually strive to update the curriculum to bring the best research-based educational practices to each and every one of our students. We also provide enrichment activities such as music, band, art, physical education, RSP, Social Service and technology.

Our teachers utilize many online academic and assessment programs to challenge and evaluate the academic growth of all our students. We teach age-appropriate typing and technology skills, computer etiquette, internet usage, and safety precautions, as well as, other topics within our technology curriculum.
FUND RAISE
Dear Wellwishers,
Ornellas School is one of the many schools run and managed by the Poona Diocesan Educational Society, having its Head Office at the Bishop’s House, 1-B, Prince of Wales Drive, Pune. Ornellas School started functioning during the Peshwa Period in 1833.
The priests of the Immaculate Conception Church popularly known as City Church were running and managing the school and seeing to the growing need of education in Pune as well as the people around the vicinity of the school, the Ornellas High School Section was started and was named after the late Archbishop of Goa, Dom Ayres de Ornellas de Vasconcellos in 1887. In 1971, an additional block was constructed and named as the ‘Savio Hall’. Today, the Savio Hall Block houses the School Library, Computer and Science Laboratories besides classrooms.
Ornellas Primary School however continued to function in the old dilapidated structure, adjoining the Principal’s residence. In order to meet the growing need to impart education right from the Primary Level to the children from around the vicinity of the school, construction of a new Primary School Building was felt necessary and accordingly, a request was made to the Poona Diocesan Educational Society (PDES). After a careful study, the PDES finally gave its nod to go ahead with the construction of the new Primary School with a Ground plus three structure. The said new building structure is estimated to cost around Rs.7 Crores, out of which, the school has arranged to pay around Rs.3 crores to the PDES towards the cost of construction plus the cost towards lift. An amount of Rs.2.5 crores was paid by the Management i.e. the PDES. The school still needs to pay the PDES a sum of Rs.1.5 crores towards the cost of construction. The school also has to arrange funds for infrastructure to equip and furnish the classrooms with the basic amenities that needs to be done so as to ensure that the school starts functioning in the new building by June 2018.
Your contribution, however big or small will certainly go a long way in continuing the rich tradition of the School in reaching out to provide education to one and all, irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
